According to the Book of Discipline, para. 252, the Administrative Council “shall provide for planning and implementing a program of nurture, outreach, witness, and resources in the local church.  It shall also provide for the administration of its organization and temporal life.  It shall envision, plan, implement, and annually evaluate the mission and ministry of the church.  The church council shall be amenable to and function as the administrative agency of the charge conference”.

This church council model reflects a historic tradition within the Church, beginning with Jesus calling twelve disciples to be together in leadership of the early Christian movement.  Following the resurrection and ascension of Jesus, leaders of “the Way” often met in groups to make decisions and to support each other in the work of mission and disciple-making.  (from Church Council:  Connecting vision and ministry in your church, Dan R. Members of the church are invited and welcome to attend Council meetings.  Those wishing to address the Council should speak to the chairperson in advance in order to ensure a spot on the agenda.

The History and Records Committee is
desperately seeking history.

The April 2007 fire which destroyed our beautiful building also took most of our historical artifacts and documents. If you know of things that could be added to the collection, please contact us.
